Mrs. Shafer
By Calder

If you are from North Penn, you probably recognize some of the third grade teachers. But do you know the teachers from Purdy? Luckily I got a chance to interview Mrs. Shafer. She has three kids (two boys and a girl), and her husband coaches baseball. Did you know that her favorite sport is basketball? The biggest difference between Purdy and Dunlap, is that this school 3rd grade is the youngest when last year they were the oldest students in the building. She loves the new school and everything about it. Her best teaching technique is giving them all undivided attention. Next time you see Mrs. Shafer in the hall, make sure to say hi.

Snow
By Lark

Didn’t you hear the news? Snow is coming! Don’t you think it is a little early for snow? When snow comes, you have to start wearing your snow gear! The teachers don’t want us getting cold, so make sure to wear your winter coats, boots, hats, and gloves, if you want to go somewhere else besides the blacktop, make sure to bring your snow pants. We already have to wear a coat when we go outside, but we will need our heavier coats soon. Soon the snow will be flying, so make sure to bundle up so you don’t get cold.

Soccer
By Lexi

If  you are interested in soccer then you want to continue reading.

In order to play soccer, you need to wear socks, shin guards, and cleats—and if you are on a team you would need your uniform. You want to try not to get any penalties for your team.  These include hand balls, kicking the goalie, pushing, putting your shoulder into other people, tripping, and grabbing other people’s feet. Now that you’re informed, what do you think about soccer? Would you want to play? If you are interested, try it out during recess.

Pennfield Panthers
By Kyle

The Panthers finished their season with an 8-1 record.  It unfortunately ended the same way as it has the past few years with a loss in the first playoff game.  I hope that next year the Panther season won’t end like this year.

Next year could be the Panthers’  year to do something that hasn’t been done for more than a decade.  Win the State Championship.

By Milissa

Do you have anything planned for fall? If you don’t, here are some fall activities that you and your family can do together. Think about going on a hayride at your local pumpkin patch.  Cornwell’s Turkey Farm in Marshall is a great place to go. You can also go to Black Cat Pumpkin

Patch where you can pick pumpkins and ride horse-drawn hayrides. There is also Bossard's Family Farm where you can pet animals at the petting zoo along with a wagon ride and picking pumpkins. These activities can sure brighten your fall.

Start washing your hands! You do not want to get sick. The flu is going around like crazy. For a reminder there are posters on the walls that remind you to stay healthy. When you are in your classroom, use hand sanitizer. If you need to cough and sneeze, do it in the inside of your elbow. Remember to keep your hands off your eyes, nose and mouth, and you will have less of a  chanceof getting sick.

STAY HEALTHY!!!
